Bhaumashwini is the Ashwini Star-day which occurs on Tuesday. The ensuing Bhaumaswini occurs on Tuesday, 11th October 2022.
As per the legend, Sri Angaraka, the Deity ascribed to Mars was brought up as the Son of Earth, Sri Bhoo Mata.

Sage Bharadwaj
Sage Bharadwaj was near the banks of Narmada. He went to the river to have bath. There he saw a beautiful lady coming out of bath. He was mesmerized with her beauty. He got ashamed of his own reaction. He took bath and went back to Ashram.
Child
The desire of the Sage Bharadwaj had become a male child. It was Ashwini Star-day. Bhu Devi, the earth was pleased with the child. She reared the child. The child was of reddish hue. So, she called him Angaraka.
Father
Angaraka one day asked his mom “who is my father? Why he is not coming to see me?”. She told him “Son, your father is Sage Bharadwaj. I will take you to him. You know about him yourself”.
She took him there. The Sage was sleeping. When he woke up both of them greeted him. She told him about his son. Sage Bharadwaj was happy to receive his son.
Education
Sage Bharadwaj taught his son all sastras and vedas. He did upanayanam also.
Sri Angaraka is also considered as the King of the Planets and hence is hailed as Graha Raj.
Rituals
On Bhaumashwini day, it is considered auspicious to worship Sri Parvathi Devi in all Her manifestations.
It is considered beneficial and virtuous to worship Sri Durga Devi also on this day. As practice, it is customary to recite Sri Durga Saptha Slokam sitting at the North-East corner of the house.
It is considered auspicious to get the blessings of one’s Guru or teacher on this day.
As Mars planet is ascribed to Bhagwan Muruga, it is considered virtuous, auspicious and beneficial to worship Bhagwan Muruga.
It is also beneficial to chant Slokas on Sri Narasimha Swamy on this day to get confidence, mental strength and for alleviation of fears.
Bhaumashwimi day is said to be auspicious day for buying land and assets and for commencing treatment for prolonged illness.
Bhaumashwini is considered as the day bestowing Amirtha Siddha Yoga. It is believed that worshipping the Deities and Bhagwan on this day shall alleviate all ill effects of borrowings.
Special Pujas and Homam are conducted on this day to get maximum virtuous benefits. It is believed that prayers on this day shall alleviate ill effects of mars influence in the horoscope.
