Runa Vimochana Narasimha Stotram is the Slokam in praise and as prayer to Sri Narasimha Swamy, the fourth incarnation of Sri Maha Vishnu. “Runa” means debts. It is believed that reciting of this Slokam shall alleviate the debts of the devotee. Here, the debt does not denote mere pecuniary debts but also denote the debts of Karma due to the cycle of birth and death in the worldly life.
Runa Vimochana Narasimha Stotram comprises of ten stanzas each describing the attributes of Sri Narasimha Swamy. The additional last stanza mentions the benefits of reading and reciting this Stotram. It is believed that Sri Adi Sankaracharya had composed this Slokam.
Runa Vimochana Narasimha Stotram is presented in Devanagari and English scripts with a simple English translation.
ध्यानम् / dhyaanaM
वागीशा यस्य वदने लक्ष्मीर्यस्य च वक्षसि
यस्यास्ते ह्रुदये संवित्तं न्रुसिंहं भजे
vaageeshaa yasya vadhane lakShmeeryasya cha vakShasi
yasyaasthe hrudhaye saMviththaM nrusiMhaM bhaje
Sri Narasimham is eloquent; He has the appearance to kill (the asura); He has Sri Lakshmi in His heart. I strive after Him in my perception and understanding. I always meditate upon and chant Sri Narasimham.

देवता कार्य सिध्यर्थं सभा स्थंभ समुद्भवम्
श्री नृसिंहं महावीरं नमामि ऋणमुक्तये (1)

You have embraced Goddess Lakshmi on Your left side. You bestow the wishes of Your devotees.

You wear the intestines of the demon (Hiranyakasipu) as garland. You hold the conch and holy wheel as Your weapons.

Just the thought and memory of You shall alleviate all the sins and their effects. You remove the poisonous effects of the snakes.

You have the fiery roar of the lion. You have great teeth. You provide sanctuary in all the directions. You diminish the fears.

You have bestowed the boons to Prahlad. You are the Lord and consort of Sri Mahalakshmi. You have made the demon king (Hiranyakasipu) into shreds.

You provide protection and sanctuary to Your devotees who suffer from the planetary (re)alignments.

You are the Lord of the Vedas, Vedanthas and Yagnas (Homam). Sri Brahma and Sri Rudra worship You.

The persons who read and recite this Runa Vimochana Stotram shall get their debts removed and they will soon be bestowed with wealth.
