Sri Omkareshwar Mandir is ascribed to the worship of Bhagwan Shiv and it is situated near Balgandharva Bridge at Shaniwar Peth, Pune, Maharashtra. The temple is near Balgandharva Rang Mandir.
The temple is situated at the bank of Mutha river. It is believed that it was built in 17th Century by Sri Shivram Bhat, the spiritual guru of Peshwa clan. The temple is said to be built in Nagara style of architecture.
The shikara of the temple is said to be made of soft soap stone and has five tiers. The shikara has intricate carvings and designs in all layers.
The main sanctum is at one-side of the open courtyard. The sanctum houses the Shiv Ling and the parikrama of Bhagwan Shiv is to be done in the mandapam.
The perambulation mandapam is serene and divine and is the perfect place for meditation. The mandapam is designed artistically with square, circular and polygonal columns.
The Nandi Dev at the temple is hailed as Sri Nandi Maharaj.
In the opposite side of the courtyard, we are blessed to worship Sri Maha Vishnu in a separate shrine.
Apart from these sanctums, there are dedicated shrines for Bhagwan Ganesh, Sri Durga Devi, Sri Hanuman and Sri Shani Dev.
At the backside of the temple, Varkarkar yatra to Pandharpur is depicted.
The temple is open from 05.00 A.M to 12.30 P.M and from 04.00 P.M to 10.00 P.M.
