Sri Vamana Stotram is the Slokam in praise of and as prayer to Sri Vamana, the fourth incarnation of Sri Maha Vishnu. Sri Vamana was born to the Sage Kashyap and Adhithi Devi. As Indra was born earlier to the same parents, Sri Vamana is also called as Upendhra, which means, “the younger brother of Indra”.
Sri Vamana Stotram is believed to be mentioned in Srimad Bhagavatham. The Slokam is composed as the prayer made by Adhithi Devi addressed to Sri Vamana.
The Slokam is presented in Devanagari and English scripts with a simple English translation.

यज्ञेश यज्ञपुरुषाच्युत तीर्थपाद
तीर्थश्रवः श्रवण मङ्गलनामधेय
आपन्नलोकवृजिनोपशमोदयाऽऽद्य
शं नः कृधीश भगवन्नसि दीननाथः (1)

Lord Sri Vamana, You are the core of the Yagnas. You are the presiding Deity of Yagnas as Sri Achyutha. Your feet were adorned with holy water. You are in the auspicious form of holy waters. Your name is auspicious to hear. You are intent on diminishing the sins of those who surrender to You. You are the primary God who protects the depressed and the down-trodden people.
विश्वाय विश्वभवनस्थिति संयमाय
स्वैरं गृहीत पुरुशक्ति गुणाय भूम्ने
स्वस्थाय शश्वदु पबृंहितपूर्णबोध
व्यापादि तात्मतमसे हरये नमस्ते (2)

svairaM gruheetha puru-shakthi guNaaya bhoomnae

Lord Sri Vamana, You do the creation, protection and destruction of the universe. You are the personification of the illusion and yet are eternal and stable. You are the embodiment of the complete knowledge. You have no place of darkness in Your soul. My humble salutations to You, Sri Hari, the universe.
आयुः परं वपुरभीष्ट मतुल्यलक्ष्मी
र्द्यौभूरसाः सकलयोग गुणास्त्रि वर्गः
ज्ञानं च केवलमनन्त भवन्ति तुष्टा
त्त्वत्तो नृणां किमु सपत्न जयादिराशीः (3)

rdhyau-bhoorasaah sakala-yoga guNaasritha vargah

Lord Sri Vamana, You bless us the life, the desired body and wealth. You bless us the yogic attributes, characteristics and control over the universe. If You are pleased with us, will you not grant us easy triumph over the enemy?
