Shree Durga Apadhu Dharaka Ashtakam is the Slokam in praise of and as prayer to Sri Durga Devi. The Slokam describes the attributes of Sri Durga Devi as the protector in the troublesome and dangerous situations. The Slokam is composed as the conversation between Lord Shiva and Sri Parvathi Devi in Sidheswara Thanthra.
The Slokam is presented in Devanagari and English scripts with a simple English translation. The benefit of reciting this slokam is given at the end.

Sri Durga Devi is the ultimate Goddess always ardently worshipped in all the worlds of the universe. She destroys the evil-minded persons. She exists in and protects the three lifeline veins such as ida, pingala and sushumna (as per kundalini). Sri Durga Devi is the ultimate refuge and protection for the Devas, bestower of all the yogic attributes and education, bestower of boons to the sages and rishis and the alleviator of all the illness. She blesses and bestows well being and welfare at home. Even if one stanza of this slokam is recited, the blesses of Sri Durga Devi shall prevail for the devotee.
