Sri Meenakshi Pancha Rathnam is the Slokam in praise of and as prayer to Sri Meenakshi Devi at Sri Meenakshi Amman Temple, Madurai. The term “Meenakshi” means the Devi with eyes in the shape of fish. Sri Meenakshi is one of the manifestations of Sri Parvathi Devi.
Sri Meenakshi Pancha Rathnam was composed by Sri Adi Sankaracharya. It contains five stanzas each describing the attributes and compassion of Sri Meenakshi Devi.
Sri Meenakshi Pancha Rathnam is presented in Devanagari and English scripts with a simple English translation.

Sri Meenakshi Devi is as resplendent as the thousand crore times of the rising sun with Her sparkling anklets and garlands. She has the smiling face with the lips as red as bimba fruits with nice lines of beautiful teeth. She adorns dazzling yellow-colored garments. Her holy feet are worshipped by Sri Vishnu, Sri Brahma and Indra. Her form and appearance denote the ultimate divine supreme consciousness. Sri Meenakshi Devi has the face which is as dazzling as the full moon. Her crown is splendorous. Her pearl garland adorns Her chest. Her holy lotus feet are decorated with the anklets which are studded with the precious gems. She fulfills all the wishes of Her ardent devotees. She is the daughter of the King of the mountains. Sri Meenakshi Devi is very beautiful. She annihilates the fears. She bestows knowledge and wisdom. She is without blemish. She is of dark complexion. She is keenly interested in listening to the play of musical instruments such as Veena, Flute and Mrudhanga. She is the mother in various manifestations. Sri Meenakshi Devi resides in the heart and mind of the various Yogis and Sages. She blesses and bestows the Siddhies, the yogic attributes. Her lotus feet are worshipped by the ardent devotees. Their devotion appear as flowers on Her holy feet. Sri Narayana adores Her. She is the personification of Nadha Brahmam, the supreme divine consciousness.
